Veneers, Crowns and Bridges

Veneers are the aesthetic option if you want to improve the look of your teeth quickly.  A thin layer of porcelain is formed to an ideal shape and then cemented over the front of your tooth to give you that “Hollywood” smile of your dreams.  Veneers can also be used to fill spaces between the front teeth and occasionally minimize crowding.

Crowns, also known as caps, are placed over a tooth when it has suffered significant loss of tooth structure.  We prefer to use all-porcelain crowns whenever possible. This means no “ugly black line” by the gums.  All-porcelain crowns are aesthetic because there is no metal substructure to cause the black line.  We strive to pull aesthetics, functionality and dependability together in our crowns and all other dental work.

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth.  In the unfortunate situation where a tooth is lost, a permanent bridge can be used to regain a tooth in the missing space.  It uses the teeth in front and back of the missing tooth to “bridge” the gap.  A realistic replacement tooth is held in the space to restore aesthetics and chewing ability where that tooth was lost.  The bridge is permanently cemented and does not come out.
